Seattle Writes: The Journey With Author/Illustrator Don Tate

Award-winning picture book author and illustrator Don Tate offers advice on creating books for children. Presented in partnership with the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators of Western Washington.

Don Tate is a founding host of the The Brown Bookshelf, a blog dedicated to books for African American young readers, and is a member of the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign that addresses the lack of diverse, non-majority narratives in children’s literature.

This program will include SCBWI Western Washington’s business meeting as well as Tate’s presentation. Both the SCBWI meeting and the presentation are free.
